Why You Should Always Be Thinking About New Ads

Hey! What’s new with you lately?”

It’s a common way to greet someone after a while, right?

Notice we don’t say:

“Hey, what’s old?”

Or

“Hey, remind me of the same stuff I already know.”

No, we ask what’s new. Because ‘new’ is exciting! And as business owners, we can’t afford to get stuck in the past.

The Real Challenge: Ad Fatigue

Social media is great. It gives us easy access to our target audience, the chance to go viral, and it’s easier than ever to connect with potential customers.

But there’s a catch...

Our audience’s attention span is shrinking. We’re living in the era of short, snappy content. People are bombarded with ads nonstop, and it’s hard to stay focused.

Sound familiar?

This doesn’t just impact teenagers glued to TikTok. It affects all of us—your clients included. Attention spans are shrinking, not by choice but out of necessity, thanks to the constant bombardment of content.

So how do we get our message across in this environment?

No, I’m not suggesting you start doing TikTok dances.

There’s a smarter way.

Keep Your Audience Engaged

The answer to shrinking attention spans isn’t to chop all your content into bite-sized, 60-second pieces.

Instead, offer variety.

Don’t rely on just one video—give them a range.

Don’t stop at one ad—try multiple.

If someone’s interested, they’ll explore your content. But you need to give them enough to dig into.

So, if you’re running just one ad right now, it’s time to expand. Aim for at least three.

If you’ve got one video in your retargeting campaign, create a few more.

In short, give your prospects options. Keep things fresh and engaging. Now go ahead and get creative. (And if you feel like being fruitful in other ways, that’s totally up to you.)
